About
100% original, award‑winning and mind‑bending.
The Cubist Contours collection is the result of years of experimentation with a single, unbroken line. Each piece begins without a sketch — just a concept and a pen. The line leads, and the artist follows.
Drawing from cubist fragmentation, jazz improvisation, and the circuit-board geometry of late-90s technology, these works reward close inspection. What appears abstract from a distance resolves into faces, figures, and scenes as you lean in.
“There's no sketching. I start with a concept and let the line lead me. That improvisational process, coupled with the cubist and technology influences, is what makes them so unique. Abstract at first, then you start to unravel the detail.”
Shane Bouchard, Artist
Influences
Inspired by

Cubism
Movement, 1907–1930s
Inspired by the principles of cubism, Cubist Contours work exclusively in line — no color, no plane, no form. Each piece transforms the movement into something new, emphasizing the fluidity of time through the orchestration of line.

Jazz
Influence, 1920s–present
Like a jazz musician without sheet music, each Cubist Contour is improvised in a single session — no sketches, no underdrawing. The line goes where it leads. You can't go back, only forward.

Technology Y2K
Aesthetic era, 1995–2005
The circuit-board geometry of the late 90s runs through every piece — dense grids, branching traces, the organized chaos of information systems at scale. The aesthetics of a technological era, reborn as fine art.
